Specialized Unveils Ultra-Rare S-Works Tarmac SL9 Remco LTD: Only 100 Units Worldwide

Specialized has introduced an exclusive new machine into its lineup: the S-Works Tarmac SL9 Remco LTD. This special edition of the brand’s premier racing platform pays tribute to Belgian superstar Remco Evenepoel, and production will be capped at just 100 bikes globally.

The price tag is substantial. Expect to pay £12,999 in the UK, $14,999 in the United States, €14,999 across Europe, or AU$21,500 in Australia. This positions the Remco LTD as the priciest Tarmac SL9 currently available. By comparison, the standard top-tier S-Works Tarmac SL9 SRAM Red AXS retails for £11,999 in the UK and $14,000 in the US.

So what justifies the premium? Much of it comes down to the striking aesthetic. The frame is draped in a gold-infused paint scheme, a direct nod to Evenepoel’s status as Olympic road race champion. Beyond the eye-catching finish, the build kit is equally impressive, featuring Roval’s Rapide Sprint CLX wheels, Specialized’s Cotton TLR tyres, and an S-Works Power saddle with Mirror technology.

The launch timing is no coincidence. It arrives just days after Evenepoel secured the elite men’s individual time trial world championship in Montréal, marking his fourth straight world title in the discipline. Now, his focus shifts to the elite men’s road race this Sunday, where he ranks among the top contenders to claim the rainbow jersey.

At its core, the Remco LTD is built upon the S-Works Tarmac SL9 that debuted earlier this year. For this special version, Specialized took the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team’s ‘Motion + Emotion’ design language from the 2026 season and layered gold accents throughout. The resulting paint job creates a dramatic split across the frame: a rich gold front section that gradually gives way to the team’s signature white rear triangle.

Underneath the paint, the frame and fork are constructed from Specialized’s highest-grade Fact 12r carbon, matching other S-Works-spec Tarmac SL9 models. Power delivery comes courtesy of SRAM’s Red AXS 12-speed groupset—the same setup Evenepoel and his Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe teammates rely on—which includes a dual-sided power meter and 50/37-tooth chainrings.

Rolling stock consists of Roval Rapide Sprint CLX carbon wheels, which feature a 63mm-deep front rim and a 58mm-deep rear, both offset. These are wrapped in 30mm Specialized Cotton TLR tyres. Up front, riders get Roval’s integrated Rapide bar and stem, while the contact points are rounded out by the S-Works Power saddle with Mirror.

According to Specialized, the complete bike tips the scales at 6.78kg in a 56cm frame size.

Those hoping to secure one of these machines can purchase through Specialized’s website or physical retail locations. Given the 100-unit production run, availability is expected to be extremely brief.
