MAAP Partners with Mental Athletic on Capsule Collection Celebrating Cycling’s Bold New Chapter
MAAP has teamed up with Mental Athletic, a platform dedicated to sports culture, to launch a limited-edition capsule collection that captures what both brands describe as an extraordinary new chapter in the world of cycling.
The lineup features several performance pieces from MAAP’s existing range, including the Pro Air 3.0 jersey available in both short-sleeve and long-sleeve options, the Team Bib Evo Cargo bib shorts, a Mesh Short Sleeve Tee, and a brand-new lightweight vest.
Beyond riding gear, the two collaborators have also developed a selection of off-bike apparel. This side of the collection encompasses T-shirts, hoodies, caps, socks, and various accessories, giving cyclists options for everyday wear that still reflect the partnership’s creative vision.
According to MAAP, the collaboration is about more than just producing clothing. In the brand’s words, the project “explores and propels the unprecedented new era cycling is now entering,” positioning itself as an active participant in changing how the bicycle is perceived, styled, and interpreted.
The collection also carries a deliberate message about resisting conformity. MAAP explains that it pushes back against a culture built around sameness, where algorithmic color choices, frictionless identities, and a tendency to flatten everything into something immediately digestible dominate. Within this collaboration, the idea of performance expands beyond traditional boundaries. Physical effort, visual identity, personal attitude, and a willingness to experiment all exist side by side on equal footing.
Starting October 15, the MAAP x Mental Athletic capsule will be purchasable through MAAP’s online store as well as at the brand’s LaB retail locations.
The release arrives at a busy moment for the Melbourne-founded company. Just last Saturday, MAAP opened its eleventh retail location in London, continuing its international expansion.
Mental Athletic, for its part, is an Italian publication that examines where sport intersects with fashion and broader lifestyle culture. The magazine has previously worked with Standert on a limited-edition Pfadfinder model, demonstrating its growing presence in the cycling space.
Together, the two brands have created a collection that speaks to riders who see their relationship with cycling as something bigger than simply turning pedals—a statement about identity, creativity, and the evolving face of the sport.
