Sidi Prima 2 Road Shoes: The Most Budget-Friendly Pick in the 2027 Lineup
Sidi has unveiled the Prima 2, a road cycling shoe built for both men and women, positioned as an easy-going, efficient option for everyday riding. The Italian brand describes the design as straightforward to operate, pleasant to wear, and capable of delivering solid performance without fuss.
Within Sidi’s 2027 collection, the Prima 2 stands out as the most budget-friendly road shoe on offer. Its upper is constructed from microfibre, a material Sidi highlights for being both hard-wearing and kind to the feet.
Breathability comes courtesy of a 3D-mesh tongue working alongside the upper. For securing the foot, Sidi employs its Nuun 002M single-dial system, which features a flip-up lever for quick adjustments on the fly.
Down at the sole, the Prima 2 uses a nylon composite construction with non-floating three-bolt drilling. This keeps things simple and user-friendly, though riders who want fine-tuned cleat positioning with Shimano’s newest SPD-SLR pedal system may find the fixed layout somewhat limiting.
Sidi gives the sole a stiffness rating of 5, and it works together with a cushioned insole to soften the ride. The fit is pitched closer to recreational comfort than race-tight performance, which suggests wearers can expect a decent amount of room to move their toes.
A practical touch is that several components—including the heel pad and the Nuun dial—can be swapped out when worn, helping extend the shoe’s usable life.
Pricing for the Prima 2 sits at £140, $200, or €159. Men’s sizing runs from 38 to 50, with half sizes available between 40.5 and 46.5. Four colourways are offered for men: blue, cream, black, and grey.
The Prima 2 Woman version spans sizes 36 to 43, with half sizes from 37.5 to 42.5. Female riders can choose between two finishes: grey and a soft purple shade Sidi calls “mulled grape.”
All told, the Prima 2 shapes up as an accessible entry point into Sidi’s road range, balancing everyday comfort and replaceable parts with a price that undercuts the rest of the 2027 lineup.
