Origine Enters UK Market with the Launch of Its Most Aerodynamic Road Bike Yet

French direct-to-consumer bicycle manufacturer Origine has officially arrived in the UK market today, marking the occasion with the debut of its newest aerodynamic road model, the Fraxion X.

According to Origine, the Fraxion X represents the most aerodynamically efficient road bike the company has produced to date. It reportedly delivers a 15-watt reduction in drag at 40km/h when compared to its predecessor, the Fraxion GTR. The brand emphasizes that the bike was engineered for practical, real-world riding conditions rather than merely performing well in wind tunnel tests and CFD simulations.

The Fraxion X comes in two distinct carbon grades. The higher-modulus version features a frame with a claimed weight of 875g, which Origine states is a 5% decrease from the Fraxion GTR. The company also reports notable gains in stiffness at both the head tube and bottom bracket areas.

The frame accommodates tyres up to 32mm wide and supports both mechanical and electronic drivetrains. On Shimano electronic builds, the Di2 battery is positioned inside the down tube, which allows the seatpost to remain slim and helps lower the bike’s overall centre of gravity.

Origine has equipped the Fraxion X with its single-piece AeroFlow cockpit, which comes in an impressive 45 different combinations of width, length, and rise. A steering limiter and a tab designed to shield the frame from chain drops help minimize the chance of frame damage.

The two carbon grades offered for the Fraxion X are called Core and Lite. The Core uses a standard-modulus frameset, while the Lite features a higher-modulus construction that is both stiffer and 150g lighter.

An additional RR option, built on the Lite frame, upgrades the build with ceramic bearings, titanium hardware, and lighter axles and seatpost clamp. When paired with SRAM Red AXS and DT Swiss ARC 1100 wheels, Origine claims the complete bike can tip the scales at just 6.6kg, positioning it among the lightest aero road bikes on the market.

Fraxion X Specifications, Weights, and Pricing

The range-topping Lite frameset, fitted with SRAM Red AXS and DT Swiss ARC 1100 55mm wheels, carries a claimed weight of 6.69kg and is priced at €9,980.

Buyers can also choose from Shimano groupsets including Dura-Ace, Ultegra, 105 Di2, and mechanical 105. On the SRAM side, options extend from Force AXS up to Red AXS.

A Core frameset paired with 105 Di2 and Origine’s own Prymahl Orion C40 wheelset has a claimed weight of 7.81kg and costs €5,374. Opting for mechanical 105 brings the price down to €4,830.

The Fraxion X is offered in sizes ranging from XS to XL.

About Origine

Founded in 2012 and headquartered near Valenciennes in northern France, Origine’s development centre and manufacturing facility sits just 8km from the legendary five-star Trouée d’Arenberg sector of Paris-Roubaix. The company previously supplied neutral service bikes to Shimano, though its role was later taken over by the 2016 Canyon Ultimate CF SLX, which was recently previewed ahead of the 2026 Tour de France.

Origine produces a complete range of bicycle categories including road, gravel, mountain, and electric models, all hand-assembled at its Valenciennes facility.

The brand’s online fitting tool assists customers in selecting the correct frame size and components, with more than 17 million configuration options and hand-painted finish choices available. Bikes are shipped fully assembled and ready to ride.

While Origine has been selling in France, Switzerland, and the Benelux region for years, the company is now expanding into the UK alongside new markets in Germany, Italy, and Spain.

Origine supports its products with a lifetime frame guarantee, a 30-day return policy, access to a network of 400 service centres across Europe, and an adjustment guarantee.
