Wahoo Launches Apple Watch App for Comprehensive Cycling and Running Tracking
Wahoo has officially extended its ecosystem to the Apple Watch, allowing cyclists and runners to connect their training equipment and sensors, monitor workouts, and follow structured training programs directly from their wrists.
Upon finishing an activity, the data will automatically synchronize with the Wahoo platform. According to Wahoo, this new Apple Watch application serves as an accessible gateway into their training ecosystem and bridges a gap that previously existed in users’ fitness routines.
The application permits athletes to log their cycling sessions, whether indoors or outside, straight from the watch. It also supports pairing with various data-collection devices such as smart trainers, power meters, and external heart rate monitors.
Later in the year, this Apple Watch integration will allow Wahoo to deliver training readiness and recovery insights to the wearer, drawing from metrics like sleep patterns, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV).
Runners and multi-sport athletes gain additional benefits, including the ability to track running performance against specific goals, receive interval notifications, and connect with Wahoo’s Trackr heart rate monitor along with the Kickr Run treadmill.
The Wahoo app works with Apple Watches operating on OS 11 or later. The extent of data and analysis available to users varies based on which of Wahoo’s three subscription plans they choose.
All Wahoo app users can access basic ride tracking and recovery features at no charge.
Those subscribed to the Core tier unlock extra training capabilities, while Pro tier members receive personalized training suggestions, full access to Wahoo’s workout collection, and sophisticated planning resources.
