Eurobike Shifts to June 2027 to Counter Cologne’s New Trade Show
Eurobike is set to return to its customary summer timing in 2027, with event organizers unveiling plans for a leaner, more affordable, and business-oriented gathering as the struggling trade fair works to reclaim its standing as the hub of Europe’s cycling sector.
The 2027 edition of Eurobike will be held at Messe Frankfurt from June 30 to July 2, a shift away from the earlier announced dates of September 1-4.
This rescheduling arrives as Eurobike confronts a significant new rival on the scene.
The Towards Tomorrow – European Bike Show, supported by Germany’s bicycle industry association ZIV and Koelnmesse, is scheduled to debut in Cologne from September 6-8, 2027, merely days after Eurobike’s original September slot.
That scheduling conflict has now been eliminated, as Eurobike reverts to June.
The timing shift carries weight given Eurobike’s recent substantial contraction. Exhibitor participation has dwindled to roughly 800 this year, a sharp decrease from 1,500 in 2025, and attendance figures have likewise seen a considerable drop.
In response, Eurobike is trimming the event down to three days and converting it into a fully B2B format, eliminating the public-oriented Festival Day.
The exhibition will relocate to the eastern section of Messe Frankfurt, utilizing Halls 3, 4, and 5, together with the outdoor Agora space.
Organizers are further striving to boost the event’s appeal among exhibitors. Booth pricing is set 20 percent below 2026 rates, and media packages have been reduced by half.
The revamped structure prioritizes meetings and networking, featuring designated business meeting areas designed to enhance the event’s value for manufacturers, retailers, and other industry stakeholders.
What remains uncertain is whether these adjustments can counteract the momentum that seems to have shifted away from Frankfurt.
As was evident during this year’s edition, Eurobike was already grappling with doubts about its longevity following a steep decline in both exhibitors and attendees. The arrival of a new industry-supported event in Cologne introduced yet another formidable obstacle—one that the organizers now appear to have sidestepped.
