2026 UCI Road World Championships: Complete Guide to Live Streaming, TV Broadcasts and Event Schedule

The 2026 UCI Road Cycling World Championships are heading to Montreal, Canada, running from September 20 to 27. Athletes will compete across road racing and time trial disciplines, with the victors earning the right to wear the iconic rainbow stripes for the following season.

This year’s competition promises to be far less predictable than initially anticipated. Tadej Pogačar, who claimed the men’s road world title in both 2024 and 2025, is sidelined with an injury and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season. This opens the door for Remco Evenepoel, who could potentially secure victory in both the road race and time trial—a feat he previously accomplished at the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, Evenepoel recently finished fifth at the GP de Montreal one-day race, despite having won in Quebec just two days before.

On the women’s side, Demi Vollering enters as the clear favourite given her impressive performances throughout the year. Nevertheless, as demonstrated by Canadian rider Magdeleine Vallieres in 2025, surprise outcomes remain entirely possible in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

The UCI Gravel World Championships, as has become customary, will be held at a different time and venue. That event is scheduled for October 10 in Nannup, Western Australia.

**Event Schedule Overview**

Competition gets underway with the elite women’s and men’s time trials on Sunday, September 20.

This edition features 13 separate events, encompassing road races and time trials across Elite, U23 and Junior categories for both men and women. An additional Team Time Trial Mixed Relay is set for September 22.

The programme concludes with the men’s elite road race on Sunday, September 27. This gruelling 273.4km contest finishes on the Mount Royal circuit in Montreal.

**Where to Watch in the UK**

BBC will provide live and on-demand coverage of select events via BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. Specific broadcast times will be announced closer to the event.

**Accessing Coverage from Outside the UK**

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a tool that allows users to alter their device’s IP address, creating the appearance of browsing from a different location.

Provided you comply with your broadcaster’s terms and conditions, a VPN lets you access your regular streaming platforms from anywhere in the world. Beyond that, VPNs can boost playback performance and substantially strengthen your online privacy.

While numerous VPN providers exist, NordVPN stands out as our top recommendation, combining reliable streaming functionality, strong security measures and competitive pricing.
