First World Robot Mount Tai Climbing Competition Set for October 29
The inaugural CMG World Robot Mount Tai Climbing Competition is scheduled to take place on October 29, 2026, at Mount Tai in Shandong Province. The event will be held on the actual hiking trail from Red Gate to Mid-Heaven Gate, a route spanning approximately 3.8 kilometers and featuring more than 3,100 stone steps. The competition will include two main tracks, four official events, and one all-terrain mobile pathfinding challenge. Participating robots will encompass humanoid, legged, exoskeleton, and multi-configuration designs, with the contests designed to test their capabilities in complex mountain navigation, load-bearing transport, and assistive adaptability. CCTV News, CCTV Sports, and other platforms will provide full live coverage of the event. Real-world testing will open in mid-September, followed by a centralized testing and qualifying round held one week before the competition.
