On September 8, Avatr Technology’s 9 Series premium flagship SUV appeared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products Announcement” (Batch 411), officially entering the product disclosure phase. As the first premium flagship SUV jointly designed by Avatr and Huawei Qiankun, the new vehicle represents the most advanced achievements of both parties in original design, intelligent technology, and electric drive systems, positioning itself as a new benchmark in China’s large luxury SUV segment.
According to the filing, the Avatr 9 Series measures 5,285mm in length, 2,025mm in width, and 1,810mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,150mm. These dimensions lead its class and are designed to accommodate diverse travel scenarios for users.
The Avatr 9 Series is built on a top-tier platform architecture. It debuts an all-new intelligent super hybrid technology, featuring a 2.0T hybrid engine paired with a three-motor distributed electric drive system. The combined output of this “four-engine” powertrain exceeds 1,000 horsepower. The system can flexibly switch between range-extender, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric modes depending on driving scenarios, delivering optimal solutions for highway driving, urban commuting, and all road conditions. For battery power, the Avatr 9 Series is equipped with a 71.24kWh CATL Xiaoyao super hybrid battery, offering a maximum CLTC pure electric range exceeding 400km, balancing long-range capability with high safety.
Notably, the Avatr 9 Series also features a “triple intelligence integration” for top-tier intelligent control. Huawei Qiankun ADS 5, the all-new Taihang intelligent control technology, and Huawei Qiankun XMC digital chassis technology are deeply integrated to achieve class-leading agile handling and million-yuan-level luxury driving quality. Among these, Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 relies on a next-generation four-lidar hardware architecture, delivering industry-leading assisted driving experiences. The all-new Taihang intelligent control technology comes equipped with distributed electric drive and closed dual-chamber air suspension, supporting rear-wheel steering and crab-walk mode, achieving a minimum turning radius of approximately 4 meters—making a large vehicle as easy to drive as a compact one. Huawei Qiankun XMC digital chassis technology is fully integrated with the new Taihang intelligent control technology, employing proprietary innovative algorithms to achieve class-leading multi-modal vehicle-road perception fusion and spatiotemporal AI suspension control.
In terms of design, the Avatr 9 Series is built on Avatr’s all-new premium sequence design language. The front fascia draws inspiration from the “Shang Ding Dragon Foot” motif, offering three front-end styling options that exude nobility and dominance. The front grille incorporates the Avatr brand logo as a design element, while the light clusters continue the brand’s classic design with diamond-cutting craftsmanship, presenting jewelry-like brilliance. Additionally, the filing indicates the new vehicle will be available in gray and platinum two-tone color schemes, with more premium color options to follow.
The Avatr 9 Series not only carries Avatr’s deep exploration and technological accumulation in the premium new energy sector but also represents a critical step in the brand’s upward trajectory. The new vehicle is planned for official launch within the year.
