TCL CSOT Debuts World’s First IJP OLED Tri-Fold Portable Monitor at IFA 2026

At IFA 2026 in Berlin, TCL CSOT unveiled the world’s first IJP OLED foldable portable monitor, marking a significant step forward in display technology. The 28-inch screen, presented at the German trade show on September 6, features a tri-fold design that collapses to a compact 16-inch diagonal when folded, yet expands to a full 28 inches for immersive viewing. Its fold radius is an ultra-tight R1.8mm, while the unfolded profile measures just 4.48mm thick, underscoring the engineering precision behind the device.

Beyond the headline product, TCL CSOT also showcased several other cutting-edge panels built on the same inkjet printing (IJP) OLED platform. Among them was a 14-inch laptop panel with 2K resolution and an anti-glare (AG) coating, delivering a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut for professional-grade visual accuracy. Another highlight was a 27-inch UHD display running at 120Hz, whose brightness has been boosted by 10% to reach 500 nits—an enhancement aimed at delivering vivid, high-contrast imagery in a variety of lighting conditions.

All the newly announced panels leverage IJP OLED technology, an approach that deposits organic light-emitting materials through a precise inkjet process rather than traditional vacuum evaporation. This method not only enables higher manufacturing efficiency but also supports thinner, lighter, and more power-efficient designs, while maintaining high pixel density and color fidelity. TCL CSOT positions these releases as a push to accelerate the adoption of high-performance, low-power, and highly integrated display solutions across laptops, monitors, and portable devices.

The tri-fold portable monitor, in particular, demonstrates how foldable architecture can be applied beyond smartphones, suggesting new possibilities for on-the-go productivity, gaming, and media consumption. With its dual-size flexibility and exceptional surface quality, the device blurs the line between a compact travel companion and a full-sized workstation display.

By debuting these panels at one of Europe’s largest technology events, TCL CSOT is signaling its ambition to lead the next phase of OLED innovation—one where inkjet printing plays a central role in making large-area, high-resolution, and adaptable screens more accessible. The company’s focus on integration and power efficiency reflects broader industry trends toward sustainable, ultra-portable computing and display hardware.

The IFA showcase not only highlights TCL CSOT’s technical capabilities but also serves as a platform to gauge market interest in foldable monitors, a category still in its infancy. Industry insiders will be watching closely to see whether these prototypes translate into commercial products in the near future, and how they might influence the design of future laptops, monitors, and even televisions. For now, the innovations presented in Berlin give a clear glimpse of a future where displays are no longer rigid, bulky pieces of hardware, but flexible, adaptable tools that seamlessly integrate into our daily digital lives.
