BYD and PaXini Tech Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement to Expand Robotics Applications in Industrial Manufacturing
On August 25, 2026, BYD and PaXini Tech, a company specializing in tactile sensing and humanoid robotics, officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement at BYD’s global headquarters. The two parties will leverage their respective strengths to achieve deep collaboration in data collection and robotics, aiming to drive substantive breakthroughs in the application of robotic technologies within industrial manufacturing scenarios.
The signing ceremony was attended by key executives from both companies, including PaXini Tech founder and CEO Hsu Jin-cheng, PaXini Tech co-founder Nie Xiangru, BYD Group Vice President and General Manager of the Fifteenth Business Unit and Commercial Vehicle Business Unit Luo Zhongliang, and BYD Group Board Secretary and General Manager of the Investment Division Li Qian. Zhao Weibing, Director of BYD’s Future Laboratory, and Lo Hsiao-heng, Chief Strategy Officer of PaXini Tech, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under the terms of the partnership, BYD will contribute its extensive expertise in automotive manufacturing—encompassing complex and demanding vehicle and component production processes, vast factory environments, and a robust supply chain ecosystem—to provide real-world industrial validation grounds for robotic systems. Additionally, BYD will feed massive volumes of authentic operational data back into large model training, continuously enhancing model generalization and decision-making capabilities. This approach is expected to lay a solid foundation for the eventual large-scale deployment of robots in real-world settings.
PaXini Tech, for its part, will bring its proprietary technical experience in tactile sensors, multi-dimensional perception, and full-modality embodied data collection to equip robots with what the company describes as “nerve endings”—advanced sensory capabilities that allow machines to perceive and interact with their surroundings more effectively.
The deepening of the relationship between BYD and PaXini Tech—from an earlier investor-investee dynamic to full strategic partnership—reflects a clear trajectory among leading new energy vehicle manufacturers toward extending their reach into embodied intelligence and core robotic perception technologies. As robotic technologies continue to advance, this strategic collaboration is expected to serve as a new benchmark for the upgrade of China’s smart manufacturing sector, potentially reshaping how industrial robots are deployed across factory floors in the years to come.
